The Best Beach Bars in Paros — Our Top Three

Paros has no shortage of beach bars. Most serve the same frozen cocktails, play the same playlist, and charge the same prices for a sunbed you will share with a stranger. We are not interested in those.

What we are interested in are the places that understand what a beach bar should be: a reason to arrive early, stay late, and feel like you have found something the guidebooks missed.

These are our three.

1. Crios Beach Bar

Crios sits on a quiet bay on the south coast, sheltered from the meltemi and almost entirely unknown to the package-holiday crowd. The bar is built into the rocks, the sunbeds are well-spaced, and the kitchen produces food that is genuinely worth eating — grilled octopus, fresh ceviche, a tomato salad that tastes like it was made ten minutes ago.

The water here is extraordinary. Shallow and warm in the morning, deep and clear by afternoon. Come before noon to claim a position on the rocks. Stay for the sunset, which hits the bay at an angle that turns everything gold.

What to order: The frozen Greek coffee and the grilled sea bass.

Best time to visit: Late morning through sunset.

2. Kolymbithres Beach Club

Kolymbithres is Paros's most photographed beach — the granite rock formations are genuinely spectacular — and the beach bar here has the good sense not to compete with the scenery. The design is minimal, the service is unhurried, and the cocktail list is short but well-considered.

This is a place for people who want to spend a full day at the beach without feeling rushed. The kitchen is open all day. The music is low enough to have a conversation. The sunbeds are positioned to face the rocks, not each other.

What to order: The Aperol spritz and the mezze platter.

Best time to visit: Midday — the light on the rocks is best between noon and three.

3. Santa Maria Surf Club

Santa Maria is the windiest beach on the island, which makes it the best for windsurfing and kitesurfing, and the beach bar here has built its identity around that energy. It is louder than the other two, more social, and more likely to turn into an impromptu party by late afternoon.

The bar itself is well-run — good frozen drinks, cold beer, a kitchen that produces solid Greek food without pretension. The crowd is young and international. The vibe is exactly what you want from a beach bar when you are in the mood for it.

What to order: The frozen margarita and the souvlaki plate.

Best time to visit: Late afternoon, when the wind picks up and the windsurfers come in.
